Pivoting Desk Armchair in Bent Wood – Early 20th Century

Elegant pivoting desk armchair in wood, featuring a refined and particularly decorative line in the spirit of early 20th-century desk chairs.

The back consists of a wide upper rail forming armrests, supported by two curved bent-wood uprights. It incorporates a central panel upholstered in black leather, secured by a row of brass upholstery nails. The seat, also upholstered in black leather, is highlighted by a studded border.

The armchair rests on a central pivoting base with four legs, characteristic of desk chairs from this period.

An old stamp or inscription is visible beneath the seat, though it remains difficult to identify with certainty from the photograph.

Beautiful wood patina with traces of use, rubbing and wear, particularly at the ends of the armrests and on the base. The leather similarly shows patina and signs of use, the whole retaining a great deal of character.
