Rosewood Veneer Centre Table, Napoléon III Period – Second Half of the 19th Century

Elegant centre table veneered in rosewood, enhanced by an exceptionally fine marquetry decoration composed of light wood stringing and a large, finely executed bouquet of wildflowers. The top, with its delicately rounded corners, is framed by a brass stringing that accentuates the richness of the design and the quality of the craftsmanship.
The apron opens onto a decoratively inlaid drawer, seamlessly integrated, fitted with a functional lock and a chiselled key, bearing witness to the meticulous attention to detail. The piece rests on four tapering, fluted legs of great elegance, united by an X-shaped stretcher centred with a decorative medallion. Toupie feet complete the ensemble with refinement, characteristic of the taste and style of the Napoléon III period.
This table stands out for the quality of its veneer, the delicacy of its floral marquetry, and the harmony of its proportions, making it a fine example of 19th-century French furniture, combining luxury with exceptional craftsmanship.
