Ivory Christ on a cross in the shell - seventeenth century Flemish School

Representation of the living Christ in a very fine details of facial features (mouth, teeth, tongue) and hair. The strong emotion of regard and the body position slightly S-shaped image exacerbates the pain and displeasure.
Christ is based on a cross in the shell and blackened fruitwood.
This is a work in ivory Flemish School in the second half of the seventeenth century.
