Pair of Empire-Style Winged Lion Stools

Pair of Empire-Style Winged Lion Stools — 19th century. In mahogany, square in form. Distinguished by their neoclassical-inspired carved supports, with four uprights richly adorned with finely sculpted gilt bronze mounts depicting winged lion heads, extending into hock-shaped legs terminating in claw feet. Square seat upholstered in green fabric decorated at the centre with a circular embroidery in the form of a laurel wreath and floral motifs. Apron enriched with floral friezes and palmettes. Stable structure; seat in good condition.
