Vitrine in Rosewood & Mahogany Marquetry, Louis XVI style – Early 20th century

This charming Louis XVI-style vitrine captivates with the refinement of its rosewood and mahogany marquetry, beautifully enhanced by bright brass mounts. Its grey marble top with canted corners adds a touch of distinction to the piece. The uprights are adorned with elegant bronze drop mounts. The entire surface of the cabinet is covered with marquetry forming geometric patterns and trompe-l'œil effects. The door features floral marquetry in stained wood set into butterfly-wing rosewood veneers. Glazed on three sides, the vitrine opens via a door fitted with a working key and a finely chiselled bronze escutcheon, attesting to the exceptional attention to detail. The interior reveals two glass shelves seamlessly integrated, ideal for displaying precious objects, porcelains or small collectibles. In the lower section, a storage compartment offers practical functionality while preserving the overall aesthetic harmony of the piece. The cabinet rests on four tapering legs fitted with sabots in the purest Louis XVI manner.
