Description

Superb Empire-style console table in mahogany veneer. This refined piece features a lift-up top concealing an elegant, perfectly fitted compartment for discreet storage. The apron is enriched with finely chiselled bronze mounts, including delicate palmettes that underscore the decorative rigour characteristic of the Imperial vocabulary. The functioning lock is complemented by a finely worked bronze key, adding a finishing touch of elegance to this decorative piece.

The whole rests on an X-form curule base executed entirely in gilt brass. The uprights, shaped as interlaced cornucopias, lend the silhouette a sculptural presence and an almost architectural dynamism, while a central stretcher ensures stability and enriches the overall composition. A harmonious union of noble materials and Imperial lines, this salon table embodies the refinement and distinction of the Empire style.
