Black marble top – late 19th century



Elegant side cabinet in fine wood with geometric marquetry, opening by way of a frieze drawer and two front doors.

The façade is adorned with a remarkable rosewood parquetry in a chevron arrangement, highlighted by marquetry borders and contrasting stringing.

The sides are equally finished in carefully selected wood that enhances the richness of the grain.

The piece stands on four cabriole legs terminating in bronze sabots.

It is surmounted by a moulded black marble top that lends an additional touch of elegance.

Gilt bronze escutcheons, handles and mounts complete the ensemble harmoniously.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, this piece may serve as a side cabinet, a small salon buffet, an entrance hall cabinet or a music cabinet.

Very fine overall presentation.

Well-preserved marquetry with minor traces of wear consistent with age and use.

Marble top in good apparent condition.

Bronze mounts and locks present.
