Empire two-body buffet in walnut

Elegant Empire-period two-body buffet in solid walnut, the upper section opening by two solid doors to reveal a generous storage space. The lower section features two frieze drawers and two doors.

The whole is embellished with demi-columns with capitals and bases in gilt bronze, characteristic of the Empire style.
The panels are enhanced by flame-figured walnut veneer offering a warm honey-brown patina.

The proportions are well balanced; it retains its original escutcheons and a large part of its original hardware.

Condition consistent with age and use, with a fine antique patina. The interiors are neat and glazed.
