Tombeau-form Louis XV style chest of drawers, marquetry and marble
Elegant three-drawer bombe commode in the Louis XV taste.

The piece features a rich geometric marquetry in precious wood veneers, enhanced by an extensive suite of decorative bronze mounts: drop handles, escutcheons, corner chutes and a central cross-rail ornament.

The top is fitted with a fine moulded marble slab in tones of pink, beige and grey.

The sides are bombe and veneered, in keeping with the tradition of French tombeau commodes.

The harmonious proportions and quality of the marquetry are indicative of fine craftsmanship from the early 20th century, inspired by 18th-century models.
