Description

This Louis-Philippe period walnut desk armchair captivates with the refined balance of its lines and the warm luminosity of its wood. The frame features a continuous curved back extending into shapely scrolled armrests that wrap around the seat with understated elegance, characteristic of the comfort sought in bourgeois interiors of the mid-19th century.
The caned seat offers both visual lightness, breathability and authenticity, while the turned and fluted front legs bear witness to careful, sober yet accomplished craftsmanship, hallmark of the Louis-Philippe style. The slightly raked sabre rear legs provide perfect stability while lending an additional lightness to the overall silhouette.
The piece exudes an impression of serene solidity, elegant functionality and timeless charm. This character armchair is ideally suited to a study, a library, or an interior that blends antique furniture with contemporary décor.
