NAPOLEON III CONSOLE FORMING A DRESSING TABLE

An impressive ceremonial console forming a dressing table, Napoléon III period. Richly ornamented throughout with floral decoration (peonies, tulips, pansies, flowers, foliage, etc.), various painted gilt arabesques, and cherub medallions at each corner of the mirror, on the uprights, legs and stretcher. The console opens to a large central drawer. It is surmounted by two small drawers (floral decoration) supporting a violin-shaped mercury mirror. Moulded white marble top. The whole resting on four cabriole legs ending in scroll feet joined by a stretcher. This console forming a dressing table comes from a Parisian apartment.
