Charming 19th-century portrait of a young woman, dated 1847 (see photo). The sitter is distinguished by the elegance of her hairstyle and the delicacy of her features, characteristic of 1840s fashion. She wears a delicately rendered, short-sleeved white dress. The signature is illegible. The painting has been cleaned and reattached to its original stretcher (using tension strips) by our conservator.
