Charming 19th-century portrait of a young woman, dated 1847 (see photo). The sitter is distinguished by the elegance of her hairstyle and the delicacy of her features, characteristic of 1840s fashion. She wears a delicately rendered, short-sleeved white dress. The signature is illegible. The painting has been cleaned and reattached to its original stretcher (using tension strips) by our conservator. Oval frame in wood and gilt leaf. - External dimensions of the frame: 36 x 29.5 cm. - Dimensions of the painting: 24 x 19 cm.
