Writing case matching Napoleon III in Rosewood Veneer decorated with a marquetry in Thuya magnifying glass and Rosewood, encrusted with mother-of-pearl and brass.
It opens with a small flap at the top, locking. It opens on 2 side compartments each containing 1 crystal inkwell with engraved silver metal cap. Between the inkwells, there is a pencil case closing with a button lid placed on it.
The small open flap allows the lower flap, larger, to open on a red leather top redone, adorned with a frieze and patterns on the corners, gilded. The upper part with a tongue also serves as flap folds towards you to discover a paper compartment.
Period: Second half nineteenth.
Perfect condition after restoration, stripping and varnished finish on a hard bottom in our workshop.
