Nevers earthenware planter signed -XIX

Imposing Nevers faience planter from the Montagnon factory, entirely hand-painted in the Renaissance spirit.
The original handles are shaped and decorated with harpies whose face is that of a man with mustaches.
The body and pedestal of the gardener are decorated with chimerical and floral motifs.
The bottom of the pot is pierced to allow the flow of surplus water.
Period: Late nineteenth.

Very good state.
