The harbour of Martigues "is made by the painter Paul-Henri Simons (1865 - 1932). Born in Marseille, he was a student of JP Laures and LO Merson.
His painting is neo-Impressionist , he uses a reduced palette of blues, reds and white of the houses. This horizontal and modulated band separates the sea from the sky.
