After the antique marble preserved in the Museo Pio Clementino at the Vatican in Rome and the bronze by Luigi Valadier, circa 1780, preserved in the Louvre.
Bronze cast with brown patina.
Inscribed F. Barbedienne fondeur on the base and bearing the Collas mechanical reduction stamp.
