Louis XVI Style Ceremonial Console Table

Louis XVI Style Ceremonial Console Table, 19th century
In gilt wood stuccoed and gilded with gold leaf, richly carved throughout.
The apron, richly carved to the front, features a central decorative scheme of trophy attributes, rose flowers and foliage, a Louis XVI bow, and a suspended garland of flowers and scalloped foliage that attaches to the joining blocks at the top of the legs.
The top is fitted with a 3 cm thick white veined marble slab whose cut follows the contour of the apron.
It rests on four straight, tapered legs adorned with fine fluting. The four legs are connected by a sinuous X-form stretcher centred by an antique-style floral cassolette.
