Salon Furniture in Cherry Wood, Empire Period – Early 19th Century

This small cherrywood piece, typical of the Empire style, displays a slender and harmonious silhouette in which architectural rigour blends with the warmth of the wood. At the top, it features a drawer fitted with a small round pull — discreet yet elegant — in keeping with the refined restraint characteristic of this period. Immediately below, a niche closed by a sliding curtain adds a functional touch, reminiscent of the small secrétaires and occasional furniture of the 19th century. The lower section opens onto a storage space fitted with a rack-adjustable shelf, allowing the interior to be adapted to changing needs while preserving the piece's careful aesthetic. Two small columns flanking either side of the façade structure the piece with elegance, acting as slender pilasters that lend verticality and character. The whole rests on a stable and understated base, while the cherrywood reveals a warm grain and a deep honey tone that enhance the refinement of its design and the quality of its craftsmanship.
