Napoléon III Painted Wood Sewing Table

Sewing table or work table in painted wood, Napoléon III period.
The drop-leaf on top opens to reveal a mirror and a compartmentalised tray or sewing box.
The tray is surrounded by a raised border to prevent objects from falling during needlework.
It opens at the apron with a drawer; beneath the drawer sits a second sliding sewing box.
The lateral uprights, featuring double baluster colonettes, rest on shaped feet linked by a turned wood stretcher.
This sewing table is decorated with painted ornament in the Neoclassical taste on all sides, on a cream ground highlighted by turquoise blue and gilt piping.
Please note: tray slightly warped, mirror clouded, and locks non-functional.
