Elegant fall-front secrétaire in walnut burr, dating from the Louis-Philippe period (circa 1830).

This piece captivates with the exceptional quality of its wood, displaying a spectacular butterfly-wing figuring characteristic of the finest examples produced during this period.

The front comprises an upper drawer, a fall front opening to reveal a fitted interior with several small drawers and storage compartments, and three large drawers in the lower section. The interior is in maple and is enhanced by charming green glass knobs, lending a touch of refined elegance.

The piece rests on moulded plinth feet and is topped with an original black marble surface, underscoring its sober and distinguished character.

The structure is sound and stable. The wood is in fine overall condition with a beautiful aged patina. A few light marks of use and minor incidents, consistent with its age, add to its authenticity without detracting from its aesthetic appeal.
