Elegant solid walnut commode opening by three large drawers, made during the Empire period in the first half of the 19th century. This piece is distinguished by its sober and well-balanced architecture, enhanced by two detached columns framing the façade.

The three drawers offer generous storage capacity and are adorned with drop handles in bronze featuring lion's head decoration, accompanied by their original escutcheons. The overhanging top rests on a plain apron, while the turned columns and plinth feet further reinforce the classical elegance of the whole.

The upper top lifts to reveal a spacious storage compartment — a practical and sought-after feature that lends this commode an additional function.

The walnut displays fine grain and a warm patina, carefully preserved. The dovetail joints of the drawers attest to quality traditional craftsmanship. The piece is in very good overall condition, with minor marks consistent with age and use.
