Large Glazed Stoneware Vase – Signed Design Ceramic

Important thrown and sculpted stoneware vase with an elongated, tapering silhouette, entirely covered in a remarkable fired glaze in shades of white, powder pink and deep brown. The surface features an organic design in high relief, evoking bark, petals or mineral formations, brought to life by numerous cavities and textural effects achieved during firing.

The glazework is particularly accomplished: the drips, rosy hues and brown-black punctuations create a depth and visual richness that make each face unique. This one-of-a-kind piece sits within an aesthetic close to the explorations of contemporary Japanese and Scandinavian ceramics, where material and fire become the true authors of the work.

The vase is signed on the underside (see photo).

Very fine state of preservation; only a few small chips to the glaze on the upper rim are worth noting, barely visible and with no impact on the overall presentation.
