A fine pair of Empire period mahogany armchairs, displaying the elegant, sober and architectural lines characteristic of the early 19th century.

The scrolled armrests rest on supports carved with palmettes, while the rectangular backs are surmounted by a discreet moulding decorated with rinceaux.

The slightly sabre front legs complete the overall composition harmoniously.

The seats and backs are upholstered in needlepoint tapestry in burgundy and gold tones, embellished with floral medallions and foliate motifs inspired by Neoclassical taste.

This upholstery, well preserved, lends additional decorative charm to these reception chairs.
