Important Louis XV-style bureau plat, richly ornamented with gilt bronzes.

The shaped façade opens with three large drawers.

The top features three surfaces covered in beige leather gilt with a small iron tool, framed by a precious wood with feather-banding and marquetry decoration.

The quality of the ornementation is remarkable: corner mounts with female bust figures, sabots, drawer surrounds, drop handles and a finely chased and gilt gallery rail.

The cabriole legs end in bronze sabots.

The reverse side is equally well finished, allowing the piece to be displayed in the centre of a room.

The overall design, the abundance of bronzes and the quality of the wood are evocative of prestigious Parisian production from the late 19th or early 20th century, in the taste of the great 18th-century ébénistes.
