Description

Covered Ceramic Box by Atelier Le Mûrier – 1950s/1960s
Charming covered box in glazed ceramic from Atelier Le Mûrier, the celebrated French ceramics workshop of the second half of the 20th century.

This piece draws the eye with its graphic, botanical-inspired decoration featuring stylised motifs in red, blue and brown on a lightly speckled white ground.

The cylindrical form is surmounted by an elegant cover with a spherical knop.

The decoration, incised and heightened with coloured enamels, bears witness to the modernist and artisanal aesthetic characteristic of the workshop's output.

Originally intended as a biscuit box, bonbonnière or decorative covered pot, this piece will sit naturally in a vintage or contemporary interior.
