Large stamped Jeanselme à Paris dining table

Large solid mahogany dining table by Maison Jeanselme, Paris. This Napoléon III period table is nearly circular in form and offers numerous extension possibilities. The central column, terminating in four scroll console feet, splits in two to reveal a central baluster support for the top, allowing the insertion of leaves. The table can seat eighteen when fully extended. One small mahogany leaf is available; additional leaves are to be made to order. Maison Jeanselme was established in 1824 and supplied all the royal households. This table is a typical example of the Napoléon III period, circa 1860.
