Description

Louis-Philippe period chest of drawers in flame mahogany, white marble top
Charming Louis-Philippe chest of drawers in flame mahogany, opening with four drawers to the front and topped with an elegant veined white marble slab.

This chest of drawers captivates with the quality of its book-matched veneer, forming superb symmetrical patterns characteristic of French furniture from the first half of the 19th century.

The drawer fronts display a remarkable butterfly-wing grain pattern, particularly decorative in effect.

The restrained and well-balanced lines, the gently softened uprights, and the small bronze lock escutcheons are all hallmarks of the Louis-Philippe style, prized for its understated elegance and functionality.

The veined white marble top is original and retains a fine presence.

The drawers are lined on the inside with decorative antique paper.
