Elegant square coffee table from the 1960s–1970s period, comprising a black lacquered metal frame housing a top composed of enamelled ceramic tiles.

The top is formed of nine tiles decorated with stylised bird motifs inspired by folk art and radiating geometric compositions.

The enamels display fine shades of ochre yellow, brown and beige, characteristic of ceramic production from the second half of the 20th century.

The understated, graphic black metal frame sets off the tile decoration to particularly good effect.

A lower wooden shelf provides additional storage or display space.

The overall piece is evocative of French and Scandinavian design from the 1960s–1970s, in the spirit of works by Roger Capron, Jacques Blin or the Vallauris workshops, without certain attribution.
