Large Parisian Louis XVI-Style Center Bureau Plat with Pull-Out Slides, Mahogany and Gilt Bronze, 19th Century

Elegant Louis XVI-style flat-desk (bureau plat) in mahogany, fitted with three frieze drawers.

The top is lined with black gilt-tooled leather, framed by a brass gallery and gilt brass moulding rods.

A particularly sought-after feature, this desk is equipped with two wide lateral sliding leaves covered in the same leather as the main top, considerably extending the working or display surface.

The apron, restrained and refined, is highlighted with brass stringing and rests on four tapering square-section legs ending in bronze sabots.

The corner uprights are fitted with brass reserves in the manner of Parisian pieces inspired by the Neoclassical furniture of the late 18th century.

By virtue of its generous proportions and timeless elegance, this table may be used as an executive desk, library table or large centre table.
