Rare and elegant Charles X period fall-front secretary, crafted in elm burr with remarkable flame and moiré figuring.

The façade, of great restraint, showcases the natural richness of the wood, characteristic of the refined cabinetmaking of the Restoration period.

The fall front opens to reveal a particularly well-appointed interior comprising several letter compartments, five small drawers and a central storage space.

It also uncovers a writing surface lined in green leather, creating a genuine working area.

The lower section is fitted with storage drawers concealed behind a harmonious façade.

The uprights are adorned with scroll-carved console brackets, a detail typical of Charles X furniture, while the whole rests on gaine feet with moulded bases.

The exceptional quality of the elm burr, combined with the purity of the lines, lends this piece an elegant and warm presence.
