Description

Tripod covered box in ceramic – Atelier Le Mûrier, Vallauris
A striking covered box in glazed ceramic from Atelier Le Mûrier, distinguished by its original tripod form and hand-painted stylised floral decoration.

Resting on three conical feet, this piece features a cylindrical body covered in a speckled white glaze enhanced by polychrome decoration in red, blue, green and ochre accents.

The lid, fitted with a spherical finial, repeats the same decorative motifs, in a spirit that is at once rustic and modernist — characteristic of French art ceramics from the second half of the 20th century.

The underside bears the Atelier Le Mûrier mark.

Dimensions:

Height: 27 cm
Diameter: 20 cm
Condition:
Very good overall condition. A few firing irregularities and tonal variations inherent to the piece contribute to its handcrafted character. No visible restoration.

Workshop: Le Mûrier
Origin: France
Period: circa 1950–1960
Material: glazed ceramic with hand-painted decoration

This sculptural decorative piece is a fine example of the output of French ceramic workshops of the 1960s–1970s.

It may be used as a candy dish, a storage box, or simply as a collectible decorative object.
