Sewing Box, India, 19th century

Sewing box or Bombay box, western India, in sandalwood with micro-mosaic inlay of stone, metal, ivory and ebony. It comprises a writing slope and a removable mirror, with numerous covered and open compartments inside. Indian work of the 19th century, Vizagapatam Sadeli. Please note losses to the marquetry.
