Rare oak desserte inspired by the creations of Gustave Serrurier-Bovy, combining geometric rigour with decorative refinement. Its silhouette is distinguished by a central projecting section that enlivens the façade and asserts its architectural character. This projection is formed notably by two blackened wood colonnettes, each accented with brass rings at the top and bottom — an emblematic detail of Serrurier-Bovy's aesthetic, in which the interplay between wood and gilt metal holds a central place.
The upper section houses two bowed drawers, each fitted with a drop handle and a brass lock. In the lower section, two doors open to reveal a geometric Art Deco veneer decoration composed of mother-of-pearl and stained wood inlays. Their shaped fronts, curved to follow the lines of the piece, are equipped with working locks, a fan-shaped key and a discreet pull.
The overall effect is one of sophisticated restraint, in which the warmth of the oak, the precision of the veneer and the metallic accents are brought into balance in a spirit that is at once Art Deco and faithful to the influence of Serrurier-Bovy. A piece that unites elegance, structure and an acute sense of detail.
