Joseph Darche, painter born in Lyon in 1846, died in 1906.
He worked for two or three years with J. Chatigny (1834–1886) and made his debut at the Salon de Lyon in 1877 with a Portrait. He exhibited in Lyon until 1904, showing portraits, figures, still lifes and landscapes (paintings, watercolours, charcoal drawings). In 1898 he was awarded a third medal for L'aurore and Au bord de la rivière d'Ain.
