Lacquered wood box, early 19th century

Lacquered and painted wood work box, Italian craftsmanship, early 19th century (dated 1817 on the fall front).
It opens via a front drawer and a fall front on top.
The latter is decorated with an animated scene of fishermen in a harbour, with ships and a square tower in the background, the whole framed by a vine-leaf frieze.
The interior is lined with a domino-patterned wallpaper.
Please note: key and lock missing, wear visible in the photographs.
