Buffet Commode in Walnut, Louis-Philippe style – 1900

This walnut buffet-commode is a fine embodiment of the restrained, refined elegance of the Louis-Philippe style. Its well-balanced façade is structured by a moulded top drawer, whose gentle lines highlight the quality of the woodwork. The drawer is fitted with a key and a functioning lock.
Below, two walnut doors reveal beautiful mitre-cut framed panels whose natural grain brings warmth and character. A pair of decorative beading strips punctuates the centre of the façade, enhancing the piece's elegant presence. The interior offers a pleasing surprise: three storage drawers, ideal for organising table linen, accessories or documents.
The base of the piece is defined by an ogee plinth moulding, characteristic of the style, which softens the silhouette while lending it stability. To the front, sabot feet provide a final touch of solidity and balance.
