French antique Huge Norman wedding painted cabinet or marraige armoire XIXth origin Upper Normandy, Fécamp. The Fécamp cabinet is characterized by a large cornice known as the "gendarme's hat" carved with acanthus leaves. The central sculpture is superb, a couple of doves pecking each other under a wreath of foliage and resting on a quiver and an intertwined torch, bound with trimmings.
At the top of each door, a bouquet of flowers in relief, under which there is a double horn of acanthus leaves,
