Louis-Philippe

Louis-Philippe style objects and furniture

The Louis Philippe style (1830-1848) is a continuation of the Restauration style where the emphasis is more on comfort and technical progress.  It is the beginning of mass production which does not encourage heavy decoration.  It is a practical style with the arrival of wash stands, barber's stands and castors on furniture.  All bedrooms now have their armoire.
