English Scriban Mahogany - XVIII

English Scriban in solid mahogany.
It opens with a flap revealing at the top, 8 vertical niches of equal size and then below 7 drawers and a leaf of lemon and rosewood veneer with nets of ebony and boxwood. The leaf adorned with a marquetry representing a shell, opens on a niche with a cross cut high and an inner drawer identical to the others. All drawers have small, original bone buttons.
The tray, on the other hand, is covered with red leather with a gold frieze and central motif and its original lock is signed "Chubs Patent - 57 St Paul Chyd - London".
The lower part of the cabinet opens with 4 drawers with dust cover and increasing sizes, each with 2 original bronze handles and their locks with their respective keys.
The back is panneauté and the piece of furniture rests on a base molded and cut simply.
Period: Late eighteenth.

Perfect condition after restoration, stripping and waxed patina in our workshop.
