Art Nouveau style objects and furniture

The Art Nouveau style was a creative artistic movement in opposition to the mass production of furniture.The shape of the furniture was complicated with long curves. Decoration was based on nature representing tree roots, trunks, leaves and vines. Art Nouveau existed along side other styles and was considered a form of art. It was expensive due to the complicated shapes and fine finish.  Acid etched multi layer glass vases were created by Galle during this period.  Other important names are Carlo Bugatti, Majorelle...
