17th Century objects and furniture

The early 17th C sees the  Louis XIII style, known for the simplicity of line in the furniture of the period.
The Louis XIV style appears in the second half of the 17th C, more majestic and introducing the use of gold and precious stones.
It is at this period that the famous cabinet-maker Andre-Charles Boulle invents the marquetry technique known as boulle marquetry
