Tiles have existed for over 3000 years, however in Europe tile production started only in the late 15th C in Italy.
The terra cotta and ceramic encaustic tiles were joined by mass produced carreaux ciment tiles in the 19th C. Although much lower in cost they can only be used inside.

Five very attractive stain glass panels : - 4 measuring 45 x 30 cm. - 1 measuring x 43,5 cm. Two glasses are cracked on the large panel; 1 glass cracked on one of the small panels.
