Stools

Find a stool

The stool, a seat with no back and no armrests, is the earliest form of seat.  It can be either three-legged or four legged, in plain wood or in silk covered giltwood.  In the court of Louis XIV it was a status symbol to be brought a stool in the presence of the king.  Many stools have specific purposes such as the spinning stool or the piano stool and can be of adjustable height. The 20th C Art Deco style stool and the vintage Tolix stool in metal are highly sought after for the modern home.
