The "confiturier"  is a low cupboard made in local wood and usually comprising a drawer above a single door and with one interior shelf.   Its name comes from the word "confit" which means to preserve food in grease or sirop and it was used for storing preserves.  Its place was then in a cool part of the house but today the antique confiturier is an attractive element in any room.
