Faience originated in Florence (Faenza) and is the name given to earthenware covered in a fine tin or lead glaze. In the 17th C 1300 faience making towns were referenced in France. Quimper bowls, antique Rouen  plates, Luneville  services or  Nevers Revolutionary plates are highly collectible, to mention just a few.
