Chaises longues

Find a chaise longue

The chaise longue, also known as a day bed or fainting couch, is an upholstered couch with a high head rest on one side and open on the other, long enough to support the legs. The chaise longue appeared in the mid-18th C, developping from the Duchesse-brisée armchair.  It was particularly popular among women in the 19th C.
